Marshall vs. Charlotte Prediction, Odds, Against Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 12
By Matt De Saro
The Marshall Thundering Herd heads into Week 12 with a 6-4 record and looking to trample the Charlotte 49ers (5-5) at Jerry Richardson Stadium.
Marshall is coming off a loss to UAB with a final score of 21-14, but the Herd managed 326 passing yards and 148 yards on the ground. The game was even closer than the final score indicates. Marshall is now averaging 33.8 PPG compared with 19.2 PPG allowed.
Charlotte is also coming off a loss after getting beat 42-32 by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The loss dropped them to .500 on the season. Charlotte’s offense is averaging a healthy 26.6 PPG but is allowing more than 30 to be scored on them. Those defensive issues have plagued them all year and won’t be remedied by this weekend.

Marshall vs. Charlotte Prediction and Pick
Marshall opened this game as a double-digit favorite for good reason. That reason, as mentioned above, is the terrible defense that Charlotte has. I think the Thundering Herd has a good shot at a blowout win here. They have beaten teams on both ends of the ball that are better than Charlotte and I don’t expect the 49ers to step up and shock anyone here.
If Charlotte manages to put consistent points on the board, a big if, their defense won’t be able to keep up. Marshall will eventually pull away and rely on their strong defense to solidify this win.
Pick: Marshall - 14.0 (-110)
