Things are not going well in Louisville, Kentucky.
The Cardinals are 0-6 and the question has to be asked, is Louisville a football school? Because the way things are going right now the basketball team might be hard pressed to reach seven wins on the season, and they already have one more loss than their padded counterparts at the school.
Kenny Payne may not be long for the job there, but Kevin Willard did not take long to turn around the Maryland Terrapins. The fighting turtles are ranked No. 22 in the nation and haven’t broken a sweat on their way to 6-0.
This one could get ugly with two programs headed in opposite directions, so let’s see what Vegas thinks about it.

The Cardinals have shown absolutely nothing to indicate that they deserve to be a Division I basketball team. They are 354th in the country in points per game and they’re 262nd in points allowed.
Think I’m being too hard on the Cardinals? Well let’s look at their games. They have lost close ones to Bellarmine, Wright State and App State, all by one point, and then headed out to Maui to play real competition and lost 80-54 to Arkansas, 70-38 to Texas Tech, and 81-62 to Cincinnati.
Meanwhile, Maryland has beaten their opponents by an average margin of 21.3 points per game and their closest contest was a 95-79 win over Coppin State on Friday.
The Terps have a balanced scoring attack led by Donta Scott and Julian Reese, but also a strong playmaker in Jahmir Young who keeps their offense on schedule and averages 3.2 assists to go with his 13.7 points. Louisville has El Eliis and that’s it. Maryland will dominate this game and leave the state of Kentucky still unbeaten.
