We are witnessing the end of the Utah Jazz as we know.

The short handed Dallas Mavericks were able to knock off the Jazz in Game 2 and 3 to secure control of this series with their superstar guard Luka Doncic poised to return from a calf strain on Saturday afternoon. Can the Jazz bounce back with questions surrounding the future of Donnavan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert together?

Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook ahead of a critical Game 4 in Utah:

Mavericks vs. Jazz Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Mavericks: +5 (-110)
  • Jazz: -5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Mavericks: +170
  • Jazz: -210

Total: 211.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Jazz vs. Mavericks Prediction and Pick

The Mavericks won outright on Thursday night as 8-point underdogs behind a combined 51 points from Spencer Dinwiddie and Jalen Brunson as well as 4 3's from big man Maxi Kleber.

The Jazz perimeter defense has put the team in a precarious position around the rim, forcing Rudy Gobert to crash down to the paint, opening up shooting pockets for the likes of Kleber, which led to 126 points from Dallas on the road. Now, with Doncic likely back, even in a limited capacity, this gives the team another dynamic ball handler to carve up a checked out Jazz defense.

While I don't want to be full of narratives, it's tough to not see these two teams trending in opposite directions with the Mavericks getting their superstar back in the lineup. The team's defense has done a fine job of limiting the Jazz isolation-centric offense and has remained composed throughout all 3 games thus far.

This spread has dropped 3 points on the news that Doncic is likely going to be back for Game 4 (he is currently listed as a game-time decision), which feels correct but this line isn't factoring in that the Mavericks have been outperforming expectation to date.

At +5, that's a play for me but I also like sprinkling on the moneyline as it feels that the Jazz are heading towards the offseason early. Dallas, despite being down their engine on offense, has the third highest offensive rating of the entire postseason. The team's 5 out attack has completely negated Gobert's rim protection, which was a turning point in Game 1, but has been limited since.

PICK: Mavericks +5, 0.5 Units Mavericks ML (+170)
