Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks bounced back from a rough season opener in a big way against the Memphis Grizzlies, winning 137-96 on Saturday.

Dallas blew a lead against the Phoenix Suns on the road in its first game of the season, and it finds itself back on the road for a matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.

The Pelicans started the season 2-0, but injuries cost them their last game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday. New Orleans lost Brandon Ingram (concussion) and Zion Williamson (hip) in that game.

Both players are listed as questionable for tonight’s matchup, as well as swingman Herb Jones, who is dealing with a knee injury.

This line could move significantly if Ingram and Williamson don’t suit up, so is there value in jumping on a side early?

Mavericks vs. Pelicans Prediction and Pick

If I’m going to make a pick now, it’s the Mavericks or nothing with Ingram and Williamson still up in the air.

The Pelicans, who I’m extremely high on this season, looked great in their first two games of the season, but losing both of their leading scorers against this Mavs team would be major uphill battle.

I’d suggest waiting to see whether or not either Pelicans star will play, because you may not get Dallas at the best number right now since they are both questionable. There’s a chance this spread could move closer to Mavs -4 or even -3 with both players healthy.

Dallas still looks great to start this season, ranking second in defensive rating and third in offensive rating through its first two games. I lean with the Mavs for now with New Orleans’ current injury report.
