Mavericks vs. Spurs Prediction and Odds: Fade Dallas Coming Off Their Back-to-Back
By Matt De Saro
The Dallas Mavericks head to San Antonio to face off against the Spurs on Wednesday night in a game that the Spurs really need to win. The Mavs are on the second game of a back-to-back with their last game a victory over the Kings.
Dallas also beat this Spurs team last week 104-99, and are winning despite some injury woes. Maxi Kleber is expected to miss the next week or more with a strained oblique and Kristpas Porzingis has been out for all but three of the Mavs games this season.
The Spurs are looking to bounce back after a loss to the Pacers on Monday night that put them in a 2-5 hole to start the season. The last time these two teams played, the Spurs had a 20-point lead early but totally blew it and ended up losing by five.

Mavericks vs. Spurs Prediction and Pick
The Maverick might have a winning record but they have looked a little uneasy to start the season. A lot of that has to do with injuries to Kristaps Prozingas and the aforementioned Maxi Kleber. This left Luka Doncic as the lone high-threat scorer on the Mavs. His stats are a little down from last season, averaging 5 points less per game than last season, which is fine, but his shooting percentage has been suss so far this year. Doncic is shooting a career low 42.7 percent from the field and 25.5 percent from behind the arc. This is quite a dip from his 58.7 percent number from last season.
Dallas is heading into the second half of a back-to-back, which is always something to consider. But, no matter the situation, the Mavs just aren’t covering spreads this year so far. Of their eight games so far this year, the Mavericks have covered just twice. The problem comes down to a lack of offensive threats and depth on defense. With a banged-up roster coming off a loss to the heat, this feels like another down game for the Mavs.
Pick: San Antonio Spurs +100
