The Formula 1 dramatics continues this weekend as it heads to the Mediterranean for the Turkish Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton holds a slight lead over Max Verstappen in the Drivers Standings after besting him at the RUssian Grand Prix on September 26th. Hamilton enters this week in first place with 246.5 points, and Verstappen is right behind him in second place with 244.5 points.

The two drivers continue to be a step above the rest, as Valtteri Bottas is in third place with 151 points, a total of 93.5 points behind Verstappen.

Hamilton is still seeking to break the Formula 1 record for career Drivers’ Championships, and he can do it this season if he can manage to secure his eighth. He’s currently tied with Michael Schumacher for the current record of seven.

He can further his lead on Verstappen, who is seeking his first Drivers’ Championship, with a win this weekend.

Turkish Grand Prix Prediction

Any time you’re betting on a winner in Formula 1, you’re basically forced to bet on either Verstappen or Hamilton. If you don’t, all you can do is hope that those two drivers receive penalties or for one reason or another and can’t continue the race.

The odds reflect that fact as week after week, those two are at the top and then there’s a massive drop off in the odds. For that reason, I’m going to back Hamilton at +140. He’s won the Turkish Grand Prix twice in his career, including the last edition of it which was held in 2020.

Meanwhile, Verstappen finished in sixth place in that race.

Any time that Hamilton is listed at plus-odds to win a race, you almost have to bet on him. The value is undeniable.
