We have some AAC football under the lights Friday when the Memphis Tigers travel to John O’Quinn Field at TDECU Stadium in Houston to take on the Cougars.

Memphis is .500 on the season with a 5-5 overall record and 2-4 in conference play. They're coming off a very tight 30-29 overtime loss to East Carolina in Week 11 where Seth Henigan led the team with 233 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Henigan also led the Tigers in rushing with 61-yards on the ground.

Houston, meanwhile, won its ninth game in a row after a Week 1 loss to Texas Tech. They beat the Temple Owls 37-8 and now lead the AAC (7-0) by one game ahead of the 10-0 Cincinnati Bearcats (6-0). With the win, Houston moved to 9-1 and leads the AAC with a perfect 7-0 conference record.

Memphis vs. Houston Prediction and Pick

Despite the loss, Memphis played tough against ECU and just barely lost. However, Houston is a far superior team this season despite having lost the last five games of this series. Clayton Tune and Alton McCaskill lead this offense that scores 32.4 points per game and has covered six of their last nine games.

I think the loss to ECU just about pushed all the remaining life from this Tigers team and I don’t see them bouncing back here. I don’t think they have what it takes to keep pace on offense and their defense is allowing nearly 25.0 points per game. Houston has everything to play for and will not let Memphis give them a hard time.

Pick: Houston -9.5 (-110)
