Mets vs. Angels Prediction and Odds for Saturday, June 11 (LA Starts a New Losing Streak)
By Josh Yourish
And just like that, the Angels are back to their losing ways. They broke their 14-game losing streak, but were unable to turn that into any kind of a winning streak with a 7-3 loss to New York last night. Brandon Nimmo was the star for the Mets with a double and a home run to drive in three runs.
Today the Angels have Michael Lorenzen on the mound with a 3.69 ERA in his first year as a starter, since his rookie campaign in 2015. Carlos Carrasco will go for the Mets with a 3.52 ERA and a stellar 7-1 record for the best team in the National League. He is looking for his league leading 8th win on Saturday.

Mets vs. Angels Prediction and Pick
I don’t think that the Angels are really as bad as their 14-game losing streak, but I also don’t think they were as good as their hot start to the year. This thing will level off eventually, especially once Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon return. For right now, though, they may not be this bad, but they are playing this bad. This looks like a team with no business competing with the Mets.
Los Angeles has lost Lorenzen’s last two starts and his last time out, Lorenzen gave up five earned runs over 5.2 innings. He is clearly not the stopper that LA needs, they may have to wait for Shohei Ohtani’s turn to come up again.
Carlos Carrasco is not the best pitcher in a rotation with Max Scherzer and Taijuan Walker (deGrom when he is healthy), but he has pitched great this year and has the most wins for a reason. I think he’s going to get another one tonight.
Pick: Mets -1.5 (+120)
