The Mets' pursuit of an NL East crown is as close as ever, as the team holds a 2.5 game lead on the Atlanta Braves.

New York is in Oakland to take on one of the worst teams in the big leagues, the Athletics. However, the A's will turn to one of their promising young pitchers, J.P. Sears, in hopes of putting together a strong outing against one of the best teams in baseball.

The under is the best look in this game with both pitchers in line for strong outings. Max Scherzer didn't miss a beat in his first start back from injury, pitching six innings of perfect baseball with nine strikeouts. He now faces the A's who have a bottom three wRC+ in baseball this season.

However, I think Sears is up to the test of the Mets lineup. New York is hitting 18th against southpaws this season, far worse than their expectations, and setting us up for a low scoring affair.

With Scherzer back to 100% and the Mets just average against lefties this is shaping up for a low scoring affair.
