Mets vs. Braves Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, July 12 (Count on Runs in NL East Meeting)
By Reed Wallach
The New York Mets took the first of a three game set against the Altanta Braves as the two teams are set to determine the NL East pecking order.
New York currently leads by 2.5 games over Atlanta, but enters Tuesday as considerable underdogs on with David Peterson toeing the slab.
Can the Mets pitching staff keep the Braves down once again, or will Atlanta even the series at one game a piece?

Mets vs. Braves Prediction and Pick
Spencer Strider is making a compelling case for National League Rookie of the Year, but I believe the Mets can do some damage against the rookie with the wind set to blow out of SunTrust Park.
Strider has been fantastic, sporting a 2.60 ERA with an absurd 14 K/BB ratio, but the Mets may be the foil to his success with the second lowest strikeout rate in the month of July. New York's discipline at the plate will be pivotal on Tuesday.
On the other side, the Braves should bounce back from their one run performance against the Max Scherzer and the Mets on Monday. The team is fourth in slugging percentage against lefties since the beginning of June and should be able to rake against Peterson, a southpaw.
I don't want to lay the big number with both offenses set up for success, so I'll focus on the total.
LEAN: OVER 8.5 (-105)
