The PGA Tour heads South of the border this week for the Mexico Open.

The event is headlined by the defending champion, who also happens to be the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, Jon Rahm.

The event isn't an elevated one, so the field is relatively weak. It's Rahm, Tony Finau, and then a large gap before the rest of the field.

Let's dive into the odds to win the event and then I'll give you my best bets.

Odds to Win Mexico Open

Best Bet: Jon Rahm (+250)

Nobody wants to bet on a golfer at +250 to win a tournament. It's square, it's boring, it's uninteresting, but yet it's the bet to make. Even at +250, I think Rahm presents some value in this spot.

I've firmly held the belief this season that any and every event that features Jon Rahm and/or Scottie Scheffler, it's betting malpractice not to wager on one of them. Now, with a weak field, it's even more true.

He didn't win this event last year only because the field was weak. This course fits his style of play and he has a huge advantage on the field with his driving ability alone. I can't see anyone beating the Masters champion at this tournament.

Luke List +450

The area of a golfers game that can separate them from the pack at the Mexico Open is play off the tee and that's exactly where Luke List thrives. He's 11th in strokes gained: off the tee while coming in at 16th in average driving distance.

That alone should be enough for him to be in contention for a top 10 finish in a field this weak.

S.H. Kim +175

S.H. Kim ranks 46th in strokes gained: off-the-tee, so he falls under the category of golfers who can compete this week based on their driving ability.

He also enters the event in strong form, finishing T15 at the Valero Texas Open and then T13 at the Zurich Classic last week. There's value in his odds to finish in the top 20 for his third straight start at +175.
