The Miami Dolphins surprised a lot of people last season by winning 10 games and staying in the playoff race all the way until they lost to the Buffalo Bills in Week 17.

Now, with Tua Tagovailoa entrenched as Miami’s starter, the Dolphins are looking to take the next step and make the playoffs. However, WynnBET has them in a surprising spot in its Super Bowl odds for the 2021 season.

The Dolphins are currently 10th on the odds list, at +2500, which is tied with the Los Angeles Chargers. Miami has better odds than the Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints, but the Dolphins actually come in at ninth to win the AFC.

So how exactly does that work? Miami is behind the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos to win the AFC, but it is actually ahead of them to win the Super Bowl. It’s an interesting maneuver, as Miami would likely need to win games as a wild card team to make the Super Bowl since the Bills are -155 favorites to win the AFC East.

Regardless, Dolphins fans certainly will love to see oddsmakers coming around on Tagovailoa and the Dolphins ahead of the 2021 season. With Miami’s weapons of Will Fuller, DeVante Parker and Jaylen Waddle on the outside, Tagovailoa seems primed to have a strong sophomore campaign.

WynnBET has the Dolphins projected to win 9.0 games in 2021 with the over (-140) favored to the under (+120). After finishing with a 10-6 record in 2020, it seems oddsmakers see a similar type of season for the Dolphins even with the NFL going to a 17-game schedule.

The Dolphins are also favored to miss the playoffs in 2021. Miami has -169 odds to miss the postseason with just +140 odds to make it.

Miami’s Super Bowl odds may seem high given the rest of its projections, but the Dolphins showed everyone they could compete last season under Brian Flores.

With Xavien Howard back leading an elite defense, the Dolphins may have a chance to spoil a contenders season in the postseason.
