The Miami Dolphins underwent a makeover this offseason. They made changes at wide receiver, running back and head coach. Tua Tagovailoa has the most weapons he’s had since Alabama. Now that he has a full and healthy offseason outside of a pandemic, the Dolphins are extremely high on his potential this season.

There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding the Dolphins in regard to what management has been up to behind the scenes. However, with a new coach and a quarterback on a rookie deal, all that matters is what happens on the field this season.

Miami Dolphins 2022 Offseason Moves and Signings

  • Hired former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniels as HC
  • Traded five draft picks for WR Tyreek Hill
  • Signed LB Melvin Ingram III
  • Signed RB Raheem Mostert
  • Signed QB Teddy Bridgewater

Miami Dolphins 2022 Schedule

According to sharpfootballanalysis.com, the Dolphins have the 14th-toughest schedule in the league. That’s nothing to complain about as it’s right in the middle.

Miami does have an extremely hard schedule to start the season. Three of the Dolphins’ first four games are against playoff teams from last season. The lone outlier – on the road against the Ravens. There are certainly waves of ease in this schedule, but starting out the season will be rough.

Miami Dolphins 2022 Win Total Prediction

  • UNDER 9 WINS (-120)
  • OVER 9 WINS (+100)

The Dolphins have several games that I can count on as wins this season, but it will be a grind to get to 10. However, this line is exactly where it needs to be, and I feel this team just has too much offensive talent to not be a solid team.

Miami has relied on its defense for the last few years and if that unit can get help, it can propel them to the next level. On top of that, the Dolphins revamped their running back room and added Tyreek Hill to unlock another gear for the offense.

They’ll have to be successful in the division to reach this number comfortably, but Miami certainly has the tools to get the job done. I think at worst, we get a push here.

Pick: OVER 9 WINS (+100)

Miami Dolphins 2022 Odds to Win AFC East, AFC, and Super Bowl

  • To Make the Playoffs: +140
  • Odds to Win AFC East: +450
  • Odds to Win AFC: +2000
  • Odds to Win Super Bowl 57: +4000

I think the best bet you can make regarding the Dolphins is to make the playoffs. The AFC is going to be loaded, but the Dolphins have one of the more talented offensive rosters in the conference. With second place in the division up for grabs and Tua Tagovailoa having great weapons around him, Miami has a real chance to start playing complimentary football – especially if the defense continues to perform at an above average level.

I don’t think the division, conference or Super Bowl is really in reach, but it wouldn’t be crazy to see the Dolphins playing in January.
