It wasn’t that long ago that Auburn was the top-ranked team in the entire country. More recently, however, they were knocked out of the SEC Tournament Early and now find themselves as a No. 2 seed. However, their first-round performance proved that they were good enough to hang with anyone. While their opponents, Jacksonville State, are far from a powerhouse team, it was a dominant win nonetheless. The Tigers' next test, against the Miami Hurricanes, won’t be such a cakewalk. Miami is coming off an upset win over USC and is going to need every bit of that momentum to get them through this game. The oddsmakers have Miami listed as 7.5 point underdogs and they will have to play one hell of a game to get out of this one alive. Miami (FL) vs. Auburn Prediction and Pick

There is no doubt that Miami had a tougher time in their opening-round matchup than the Tigers did. Auburn was on cruise control for a lot of their 19 point win over Jacksonville State. The Tigers' defense blanketed Jacksonville State and held them to just 61 points and 30 percent shooting. 

Miami was in a real battle with No. 7 seeded USC but managed to eke out a two-point win 68-66. But Miami did a lot of things wrong in that win. First off, they went 1-for-14 from behind the arc. The bad news for a team that relies a lot on their three-point shooting. The Canes were a 35 percent three-point shooting team before last night. It will be interesting to see if they can re-discover their shooting stroke in time to make a run at Auburn. 

Auburn is a No. 2 seed in the body of a No. 1 seed and I’m willing to bet they flex on Miami on Sunday.
