Miami vs Pittsburgh Prediction and Odds (Trust Hurricanes To Cover As Road Favorite)
By Joe Summers
After a loss to Virginia snapped a three-game winning streak, the 19-8 Miami Hurricanes hope to get back in the win column as they take on the 11-17 Pittsburgh Panthers tonight at 8:00 PM EST.
The Panthers just had their own three-game winning streak snapped as well with a loss to Georgia Tech, so which team is poised to bounce back?

Miami vs Pittsburgh Prediction and Pick
The Hurricanes have been one of my favorite teams to bet on this season. They've been absolutely money as an underdog but are just 4-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last 11 as a favorite. That being said, I like this spot for them against a Panthers squad that's overachieved of late.
Prior to a three-game cover streak, Pitt was just 3-7 ATS in their previous 10 thanks to a dreadful offense. The Panthers rank 293rd nationally in effective field goal percentage and turn the ball over on 21.3% of their possessions. That's bad news against a Miami offense that ranks 21st in adjusted offensive efficiency thanks to one of the lowest turnover rates in the country.
Pittsburgh excels at getting to the free throw line with the 3rd-highest free throw rate in college basketball, but Miami's experienced roster boasts the 36th-lowest defensive free throw rate, so they should be able to mitigate the Panthers' strength.
Meanwhile, Miami's elite ball-handlers and strong outside shooters should allow them to score against a Pitt defense that ranks 261st in opposing three-point shooting percentage.
As a cherry on top, the Hurricanes are excellent on the road. They're 7-2 ATS on the road this season and know their NCAA tournament hopes can't afford a bad loss. Give me Miami to cover the modest spread today as they cover for the fourth time in their last five matchups.
Pick: Miami -4 (-110)
