The Miami Hurricanes hit the road and head to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers at Heinz Field in Week 9. The Canes are just 3-4 on the year but their last win was a big upset over N.C. State. The team was led by Charleston Rambo who snagged nine watches for two touchdowns and 127 yards.

The Panthers are also coming off an impressive win in Week 8. The Clemson Tigers were victims of that 27-17 win that put Pitt into the No. 17 spot in the rankings. The team is first in the ACC Coastal and appears locked in for a strong second half of the season.

Here are the odds for this Week 9 ACC battle, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Miami vs. Pittsburgh Prediction and Pick

The Panthers’ win over the Tigers last week was led by QB Kenny Pickett. Pickett continues to see attention as a dark horse candidate to win the Heisman after his latest 302 yards two touchdown performance. The senior quarterback has 23 touchdowns on the season compared with just one interception. He ranks in the Top-10 in yards, touchdowns, interceptions, and QBR, yet isn’t getting the shine that some of the other candidates are. AT +2200 to win, there are worse long shot candidates to take a flier on.

Thanks to Pickett, and the rest of the team, Pitt has not only won four in a row, but the Panthers have also covered all four of those games. Each win came as a favorite and Pitt covered by more than 10 points in all but one of those games. Pitt has failed to cover just once this season, against Western Michigan as a 14 point favorite. The Panthers actually lost that game in what could be looked at as a huge anomaly in an otherwise perfect season. If not for that game, Putt would be 7-0 both ATS and SU.

I think with a spread of 11.5, Pitt is just too good for Miami to keep pace. Pitt has proven to not only be a winning team but a winning team that routinely covers spreads. Bet on the Panthers to make it five in a row ATS in Week 9.

Prediction: Pittsburgh -11.5 (-110)
