Mario Cristobal and Miami were on upset alert early in Week 2 down 7-3 to Southern Mississippi just before halftime, but the Hurricanes went on to cruise to a 30-7 victory.

Things didn’t go so smoothly for Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies against Appalachian State. They weren’t just on upset alert, they were upset 17-14. The offense has no answers right now, and Fisher better come up with some quick before it is another lost season for the No. 24 ranked Aggies.

It is a big time top-25 ranked matchup in Week 3 so let’s get right to it.

Miami vs. Texas A&M Prediction and Pick

The Aggies are favored despite the pitiful offensive display last week against an App State defense that hemorrhaged points to North Carolina. Andy Staples wrote in The Athletic this week, the A&M offense had eight offensive possessions last week and six of those ended in four plays or fewer. Only one of them was because of a touchdown and the longest possession gained 29 yards.

Haynes King was named the starter this year over Max Johnson and a five-star freshman, but he could be replaced soon after not even throwing for 100 yards in the loss. The team only gained 186 yards all game. It is really bad in College Station right now, and yet I actually like the Aggies this week.

This feels like a classic overreaction spot after Texas A&M lost last week and now Miami comes in ranked No. 13 after beating Southern Miss and Bethune Cookman. I don’t care how bad the Aggies looked, they have five-stars all over the place, Jimbo Fisher has been an incredible recruiter and talent wins out in college football.

Not to say Miami doesn’t have talent because they do, but this is like going from Single-A baseball to the big leagues in a week.

Pick: Texas A&M -5.5 (-110)
