The No 11. Seeded Michigan Wolverines continue to overachieve and are now in the Sweet 16 against the No. 2 seeded Villanova Wildcats. This South Region showdown is scheduled to tip-off at 7:29 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 24 in San Antonio Texas.

The Wolverines are actually one of two 11 seeds left in the tournament along with the Iowa State Cyclones in the Midwest Region. Michigan has now made it to the Sweet 16 in five of the last six years.

Here is Michigan’s upcoming Tournament schedule and odds for its Sweet Sixteen game via WynnBET

Michigan March Madness Schedule

If Michigan is able to pull off another March Madness upset, they will be in the Elite Eight for the second time since 2018. The last time the Wolverines made it that far, they went on to play in the tournament final. A game in the Elite Eight would be against the winner for Arizona vs Houston on Thursday.

Michigan Wolverines vs. Villanova Wildcats Prediction and Pick

I already covered this game in my write-up on Villanova and their upcoming schedule. But, I'll provide a quick summary of my thoughts here to make life easy.

Basically, the Michigan Wolverines are playing over their head and have only one real threat on the court. That threat is Hunter Dickinson. That is not to say there are no other good players on this team. But Dickinson is the only Wolverines player that can legit take over a game.

The problem for them is that Villanova has multiple players that can fill that role and nobody on the Wolverines that can cover them effectively.

The Wildcats have four players averaging double-digit scoring and are a top 10 team in terms of adjusted offensive efficiency. I just don’t see Michigan hanging tight in this one. Their Cinderella story is coming to an end.

Lean: Villanova Wildcats -5 (-110)
