Indiana first-year head coach Mike Woodson was fired up after his squad knocked off their bitter rival Purdue on Thursday night at Assembly Hall.

The win over the No. 4 team in the country was significant for a plethora of reasons, but a key question is how will the Hoosiers respond with a short turnaround Sunday afternoon at home?

The Michigan Wolverines come to town for a 3:30 p.m. ET tip-off coming off their most complete win over a Big Ten opponent since early December, knocking off the Maryland Terrapins at home 83-64. The Wolverines are only 8-7 on the season and 2-3 in conference play compared to Indiana (14-4, 5-3), but their level of talent is ripe for an upset.

Will Michigan snap IU's home undefeated streak this season, or at least cover the spread as road underdogs?

Here's how the oddsmakers at WynnBET see this lining up.

  • Indiana -4 (-105)

Michigan vs. Indiana Prediction and Pick

The spread is exactly where I think it should be, as I envision the Hoosiers putting together another close win at home against an inconsistent Wolverines squad.

However, I'm going to go slightly off book here and take Michigan to win the first half at very solid value.

Indiana pulled off their biggest win of the season on Thursday and it's natural to come out of the gate a little big sluggish after that kind of an upset win.

The Wolverines have a top 25 adjusted offense via KenPom and will look to push the pace the Hoosiers' No. 13 adjusted defense early and often. You might blink, and the Wolverines could be up big early before the Hoosiers' half court offense starts to settle in with plenty of screen-roll action for Naismith candidate Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Michigan also got off to a blistering start in their last game, outscoring Maryland 39-19 in the first half.

The Wolverines got a tremendous outing out of Hunter Dickinson last time out, stuffing the stat sheet with 21 points, six boards and six assists.

The Hoosiers have also been a tale of two teams in each half this season. When they get up big in the first, they tend to struggle in the second. When they're sluggish in the first, they rally and play very well in the second. I'd anticipate the latter in this afternoon's game, as Jackson-Davis responds from his worst outing of the year against Purdue to finish strong.
