Fresh off his win at the PGA Championship, Phil Mickelson is back for another edition of The Match. He’s once again pairing up with Tom Brady, but this time they’ll be taking on US Open winner Bryson DeChambeau and Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

While odds have yet to be released, Mickelson is 2-1 in the series with his sole loss coming the last time he was paired with Brady, when they took on Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning. Mickelson was set as the underdog in both of his wins.

Between losing my bets against Phil in the final round of last week’s PGA Championship, as well as losing a sizable bet against Mickelson and Charles Barkley in the last edition of The Match, there’s no way I’ll be picking against him again this time around.

I still can’t believe they let Barkley tee off from the ladies tees.

This will be the fourth edition of The Match. The series began with a 1 v 1 match between Mickelson and Woods with $9 million on the line. “Lefty” went on to win The Match on the fourth playoff hole.

The event turned into a team affair, as Mickelson began inviting athletes from other sports to compete for charity. In the latest edition, Mickelson was paired with Barkley and they went on to defeat a team made up of Manning and Steph Curry.

Bryson DeChambeau, who was in the news recently after a leaked clip showed him get under Brooks Koepka’s skin, will be an interesting addition to The Match. DeChambeau is one of the most polarizing figures in sports, as his quirky personality and his ability to smash the ball a quarter-mile makes for must-watch television.

This will be Rdogers’ first appearance in the series, but he has competed at the annual celebrity tournament, the American Century Championship. He finished in 16th place at the 2020 edition of the event. With a reported four handicap, Rodgers will hold his own against Brady.

Despite losing to Manning and Woods in The Match 2.0, Brady had the shot of the day by holeing out for eagle with his approach shot on the Par 5 7th hole.
