Mike White vs. Carson Wentz: Who Will Throw for More Passing Yards in Jets vs. Colts?

Mike White had a career day in his first start last week with more than 400 yards passing. Can he repeat his success against the Colts on Thursday?

There is a surprising amount of hype focused on the New York Jets QB Mike White this week. In his first start ever, White became the first Jets QB in over two decades to pass for 400 yards in a single game. Now, White and the Jets are heading Lucas Oil Stadium to face the Colts on Thursday night and many are clamoring to see if he falls back to earth or has another big game.

Mike White Passing Yards Total 260.5 (OVER -125/UNDER -115)

I hate to get sucked in by the hype, but I like White’s chances to go over his total. WynnBET has it set at 260.5 with the over juiced to -125.

I don’t usually take one game too much to heart but White’s performance against the Bengals was something special. I feel that he and this team are in a good spot to continue to improve in the coming weeks.

While I don’t expect another 400+ yard performance from White, I don’t think it will be a tall task to outperform Wentz this week.

Carson Wentz Passing Yards Total 242.5 (OVER -125/UNDER -115)

Now, we have to talk about Carson Wentz, White’s counterpart under center for the Colts. Wentz was traded for in the offseason by the Colts who were hoping he could help the team bounce back after a rough 2020 season. That plan hasn’t exactly panned out as the Colts are 3-5 and might be looking to move on from Wentz already. The team has a stretch of two games, against the Jets and Jaguars, that are very winnable, but can Wentz get back on track after last week’s brutal loss to the Titans? I am not so sure.

WynnBET Sportsbook has his passing yards total set at 242.5, but I'm going to lean towards the UNDER at -115.

I have no faith in Carson Wentz. Never have, never will. He makes too many mistakes and last week was not the first time he cost his team the game. I say this despite the fact that the Jets are the sixth-worst team in terms of passing defense and, overall, I think are a weaker team.
