Milwaukee Bucks Season Preview, Win Total Prediction and Playoff Odds
By Peter Dewey
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks will have a lot of competition in the Eastern Conference this season with the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics all making moves this offseason to improve their rosters.
The Bucks lost defensive stalwart P.J. Tucker to Miami in free agency, but they did bring back Bobby Portis after his impressive NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.
Milwaukee’s Big 3 of Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton and Giannis is still intact, and the offseason saw the Bucks add a bunch of shooting to the roster in Grayson Allen, Rodney Hood and George Hill.
The return of shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo will also help the defending champs, but they are going to have to get through a potentially healthy Nets team if they want any chance at repeating as champions.
Antetokounmpo is going to lead the Bucks to plenty of wins, but how do the oddsmakers at WynnBET view Milwaukee fresh off its NBA title?
Milwaukee Bucks Win Total Prediction | 54.5 (Over -116/Under -105)
The Bucks took a bit of a step back in the regular season the 2020-21 campaign, winning just 63.9 percent of their games after winning over 73.0 percent in each of the two previous seasons.
While the regular season only means so much in the NBA, I’m surprised that Milwaukee’s win total is at 54.5 considering it won 56 and 46 games in the last two seasons which were both shortened due to COVID-19.
In a full 82-game season, I think the Bucks hit the over on this number, although it will be interesting to see how they replace Tucker in the starting lineup.
The Bucks are going to be one of the best teams in the East, and with the Philadelphia 76ers looking as dysfunctional as ever, I wouldn’t be shocked if Milwaukee came away with the No. 1 seed this season.
Milwaukee Bucks Playoff Odds
Milwaukee is a lock to make the playoffs at WynnBET at -10000 (bet $10,000 to profit $100) odds, and the Bucks are third in the odds to win the NBA Finals next season at +900 (bet $100 to profit $900).
Unless Giannis gets hurt, the Bucks are going to make the playoffs in the East and will likely be one of the top three seeds.
A star-studded Nets-Bucks Eastern Conference Finals would be must-watch TV, but I’m going to wait-and-see on the Bucks’ NBA Finals odds to see if I can get them at a better value than +900.
