A lot of people had high hopes for the Indiana Hoosiers coming into this college football season, but it's been a never-ending nightmare since opening kickoff. They've yet to win a game in the Big Ten, and are 2-8 on the year with their only wins coming against Idaho and Western Kentucky.

They'll look to snag their first conference win of the season when they face Minnesota, who enters the matchup on a two-game losing streak. The Golden Gophers come off losses to Illinois and Iowa, but they still have an outside shot at winning the Big Ten West.

Here's a look at the odds for the game, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Minnesota vs. Indiana Prediction and Pick

If there's one thing that Indiana does with some success this season, it's stop the run. Teams are only allowing four yards per rush against them this season, which is in the top 50% of all college football teams. This will prove important against a Minnesota team who ranks fourth in the country in run play percentage at 67.3%, The Golden Gophers run the ball more than any team that's not Army, Navy, or Air Force.

There's not many positive things you can say about Indiana's offense, but it's clear that this is going to be a defensive battle. With everyone on the planet backing Minnesota in this spot, I'm going to play contrarian and take Indiana to cover the touchdown spread at home.

Indiana likes to throw the ball (34th in pass play percentage), and that's exactly where Minnesota's defense can be taken advantage of. It's an ugly bet, but I think it's the right one.

Pick: Indiana +7.5 (-110)
