The Minnesota Golden Gophers are hoping to get back on track tonight against the Michigan State Spartans after losing their last two games. They travel to East Lansing to take on their conference rivals, the No. 10 Michigan State Spartans. While the Golden Gophers are on a losing streak, the Spartans are winners of eight in a row and have yet to lose a game at home.

The Golden Gophers will be out for revenge after having already lost to MSU 75-67 earlier in the year. It was Minnesota’s first loss of the season and the Golden Gophers have since lost two straight games in the Big Ten. The Golden Gophers are now 10-3 with a 1-3 mark in conference play.

Here are the odds for this Big Ten matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Minnesota vs. Michigan State Prediction and Pick

In the first game between these two teams, the Golden Gophers were let down in large part by their defensive rebounding. The Spartans totaled 41 boards in that game while the Golden Gophers managed just 24. That is a gap of 17 rebounds and one Minnesota will need to address in the lead-up to tip-off.

The Golden Gophers also let the Spartans get way too comfortable from behind the arc. MSU shot 48 percent from downtown and was 10-for-21 on the night. This is an area that I expect Minnesota to do better in tonight as they usually defend the perimeter well. Overall this season, teams are shooting just 27 percent from behind the arc against the Golden Gophers.

The Spartans are clearly more talented, on a hot streak, and have already beaten the Golden Gophers this year. MSU is one of the best teams in the nation right now and the Golden Gophers are not even close to that level. I expect a similar outcome to the previous game with one notable difference. I expect the Spartans to play even better than last time. MSU is a far better rebounding team and should dominate the boards once again en route to a big win.

Pick: Michigan State -11.5 (-110)
