While I went 1-2 on yesterday’s props, I am happy that Pablo Lopez was the one to get the win for us. Lopez has been one of my favorite pitchers to back this season, and I’ll continue to do it moving forward. 

As for today, I’m taking another pitching prop in the “Subway Series,” another AL East pitching prop, and I'm looking at the last game of the night for the final prop of the day.

  • Cal Quantrill UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-155)
  • Max Scherzer UNDER 8.5 Strikeouts (-144)
  • Kevin Gausman OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-165)

Cal Quantrill UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-155)

Since June 1, Quantrill has only cleared this line once. Tonight, he’ll face a team in the upper half of the league in strikeouts per game. Boston only strikes out 8.34 times per gamel. If the Guardians can play their normal style, don’t expect Quantrill to have a career day.

Max Scherzer UNDER 8.5 Strikeouts (-144)

I’m going with another UNDER here and fading one of the best pitchers in the league while I’m at it. Scherzer has been fantastic since his return, only missing this line once. However, the Yankees have been one of the top 10 hardest teams to strike out over the last three games. It’s a small sample size, but when you couple that with Scherzer missing this line in his last start, there is something to hang your hat on for tonight. 

Kevin Gausman OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-165)

Gausman has been great all season and I think he has another good performance tonight. He’s hit the OVER on this line in four of his last five starts – even getting up to double digits twice. Although the Cardinals are a tough team to get swinging and missing, Gausman has my trust. He struck out eight batters in his first time out against the Cardinals, and I’m expecting a similar performance tonight.
