Okay, so fading two of the best pitchers in baseball wasn’t a good strategy. We missed on both the Dylan Cease UNDER and the Sandy Alcantara UNDER. However, we did hit on Nestor Cortes’ UNDER, so we left the day 1-2.

We only have three picks today and they’re both from the Dodgers-Padres game. Padres fans, you may want to turn away.

MLB Best Bets Today

Dodgers-1.5 vs. Padres

I wrote this preview up earlier and this is my best bet of the day. The Dodgers have dominated the Padres all year long and just played them last week – and I picked them in every game that series.

Surprise, Surprise! I’m doing it again. San Diego hasn't proven it can hang with the Dodgers, so I'll fade them until they show otherwise.

Los Angeles is 10-3 SU and ATS against the Padres on the season. They are 8-2 SU and ATS in the last 10 games. The Dodgers have their number and it just makes sense to take them on the run line until the luck runs out.

Mookie Betts to Hit a Home Run (+340)

Betts hit a home run against the Padres in last week’s series, so why not back him to do it again this week. The Padres are sending Mike Clevinger to pitch, which may come with some issues. Clevinger has given up four home runs over his last three starts. Betts will feast tonight. He’s hit three home runs against the Padres this season. Get ready for a fourth.

Mike Clevinger UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts – San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Clevinger hasn’t cleared this line since August 1st. I doubt he’s going to do it against a Dodgers team that lit him up in his last time out. Clevinger didn’t last four innings because he gave up four hits and five runs in 3.1 innings. The Dodgers are rolling again, and I think Clevinger has another tough day on the mound.
