There's all-day baseball betting action this Memorial Day, and for some reason, the oddsmakers at WynnBET have provided some terrific odds on a few underdogs that are being overlooked at home.

For those of you grilling out this Memorial Day on the unofficial start of summer, why not enjoy your hot dogs at home with some home underdogs set to "cook" their opponents today.

In today's "MLB Best Bets," let's zone in on two of these two home dogs on the west coast, as well as a pitcher strikeout prop in the late game of the day who's in perfect position for a bounce back game.

MLB Best Bets for Monday, May 30

  • Athletics +155 vs. Astros
  • Diamondbacks +105 vs. Braves
  • Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-120)

Athletics +155 vs. Astros

By now, you may have already read both Joe Summers' betting preview for today's AL West afternoon matchup at the Coliseum, as well as Matt De Saro's "Underdog of the Day" breakdown backing the A's.

As someone already compelled to take Oakland in the game, I'm feeling even better about this pick now as Paul Blackburn makes his 10th start of the season.

Blackburn's been a pillar of consistency for a team so desperately lacking any. The A's are 8-1 straight up in his nine starts this year, while allowing three runs or less in every game. The Astros, despite a solid 16-12 record away from Minute Maid Park this year, rank 20th in baseball in batting average away from home.

As long as Oakland can get a few runs on the board vs. Framber Valdez, the A's will be in a great position to pull off a solid moneyline upset in their home park this afternoon.

Diamondbacks +105 vs. Braves

Are we really going to fade Zac Gallen with plus-odds at home? Not this guy.

I know the most recent start was not promising, allowing six earned runs in 5.1 innings against the Kansas City Royals, but until that point, Gallen had yet to allow more than two earned runs in any of his previous 11 starts. In fact, Gallen allowed a TOTAL of five earned runs all season before the game against K.C.

The Braves are still searching for their identity on offense, and continue to strike out at a massive rate; leading all of baseball with a 26.7% K-rate.

This is an ideal spot for Gallen to get back on track.

Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-120)

Buehler has overpowering stuff, but as a bettor, he can be a bit maddening when betting on his strikeout prop numbers.

He's been below this number in his last three games, but this Pirates team is a disaster offensively, leading to what I expect to be one of his better games of the season.

Buehler owns a 25% strikeout rate via MLB Statcast against this current Pirates' team, and the Buckos have the fourth-highest strikeout rate in baseball this season. This is the ideal bounce back spot for him against a flailing Pittsburgh offense for him to cruise to over 5.5 K's on the night.
