I’m not going to lie. I’m actually in shock of how yesterday turned out.

Texas Rangers starter Glenn Otto came through with his prop, but Baltimore Orioles' pitcher Spenser Watkins missed by one strikeout and New York Yankees SP Luis Severino only had three strikeouts in a 6-inning shutout performance.

Oh well. "Stuff" happens.

Tonight, I’m fading a once-great pitcher and giving out my picks for the matchup of the night.

Let’s get right into the bets for Thursday, July 7, with odds coming from consensus lines.

MLB Best Bets Today

  • Dallas Keuchel UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (-165)
  • Logan Webb OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)
  • Joe Musgrove OVER 6.5 Strikeouts (+118)

Dallas Keuchel UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (-165) - Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Colorado Rockies

Keuchel has missed this line in six of his four starts this season. He started off his career with the Diamondbacks with a dominant seven-strikeout game. However, he’s been a shell of himself this season.

I’m willing to bet he has another poor start or gets taken out early, causing him to fall short.

Logan Webb OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+120) - San Francisco Giants at San Diego Padres

Webb and Musgrove are set for a thrilling pitching duel, so I’m taking the OVER on both of their props. Webb has cleared this line in three of his last four starts.

The Padres are in the bottom third in strikeout rate over their last three games, which sets up well for Webb.

In his start against the Padres in April, Webb struck out seven. He knows this team well, and will fan a fair amount of batters tonight.

Joe Musgrove OVER 6.5 Strikeouts (+118) - San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants

Just like Webb, Musgrove will have a good outing tonight. He’s also cleared this line in three of his last four starts.

This is Musgrove’s second start against the Giants – he only struck out four in the first meeting.

I think this will be a good time for him to redeem himself, especially with a Giants team that is slightly below average in strikeout rate.
