It's a holiday weekend, so let's have some fun. Today, all of my picks are home run props. I'm trying once again to hope the Giancarlo Stanton train and I'm going to one of my favorite fades in the majors.

Here's to big swings and big payouts!

MLB Best Bets Today

  • Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels (+520)
  • Andrew McCutchen, Milwaukee Brewers (+340)
  • Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees (+230)

Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels (+520)

I went with Giancarlo Stanton two days in a row, but I think it’s time to move on. I’ll switch my focus to Taylor Ward of the Angels. Ward hasn’t hit one in nine games, but this is a good spot for him. He has 11 homers on the season and is going against Jose Urquidy. One of the most consistent things I like to bet on is Urquidy giving up a dinger. He’s given one up in his last eight starts. You can get more value with Ward to knock it out the park over the other two stars on the Angels, so I’ll back him.

Andrew McCutchen, Milwaukee Brewers (+340)

McCutchen’s bat is starting to come to life over the past week or so. He’s hit three home runs in his last nine games. Today, he’ll go against Bryse Wilson, who will give up a homer if he stays out on the mound long enough. The Pirates allow the ninth-most home runs per game in baseball. McCutchen can take his momentum and turn them into moonshots.

Giancarlo Stanton, New York Yankees (+235)*

I went with Stanton on Thursday, but failed to get the win. I’ve done this before, but I’m going right back to the well. Stanton has hit a homer in five of his last seven games, and I’m going to ride the hot hand tonight against the Guardians. McCarty has given up five home runs in two starts, so don’t be surprised if Stanton explodes today.

This prop was written for Friday’s game, but it was rained out and is rescheduled for today.
