We’re back and ready to be better than ever today. We had a couple solid days last week, and a couple not-so-solid days. However, I feel good about the options I have for you today.

I’m split on a couple of AL West pitchers, and am completely fading an NL West pitcher that’s been on top of his game lately.

All odds listed are via consensus sportsbooks.

MLB Best Bets Today

  • Yu Darvish UNDER 6.5 Strikeouts (+135)
  • Logan Gilbert OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-144)
  • Cristian Javier UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (-145)

Yu Darvish UNDER 6.5 Strikeouts (+135)

I understand that Darvish is on fire right now. He’s cleared this line in four of his last five games. However, I think he’s due for a little regression today. The Rockies average the 8th-fewest strikeouts per game and have the seventh-best strikeout percentage in baseball. Darvish, even in a great month, has had a few slip up games in which he allowed multiple home runs. If that happens today, his start could end early and cause him to miss this line.

Logan Gilbert OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-144)

Gilbert has cleared this line in three of his last four starts, and two consecutive starts as well. The Yankees are the 15th-best team when it comes to strikeouts per game. Gilbert isn’t facing an unhittable team. He’s cleared this line against the Astros, who are top 3 in Ks per game, so with his hot streak and the Yankees “averageness,” I like Gilbert to pass this.

Cristian Javier UNDER 7.5 Strikeouts (-145)

While I would love to support Javier today, I simply don’t trust him. He’s only cleared this line three times in the last two months, and two of those games were against the Angels. Boston is 14th in strikeouts per game, so I think we’ll see a regular game from Javier. He’s gone at least 6 innings in his last two starts, which may be enough to push him over. However, he rarely does, so the UNDER is my first priority with him.
