Best MLB Prop Bets Today

Alek Manoah OVER 4.5 Strikeouts - Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Were the oddsmakers asleep at the wheel for this one? This line is climbing fast with most books already at 5.5.

Manoah has hit the OVER on this line in seven consecutive starts and gets the Rays bright and early in Toronto for Game 1 of their doubleheader today.

Tampa owns the 12th-worst strikeout rate in the majors at 23.2%, and is fifth-worst in baseball vs. right-handed pitching in particular. With two games going down in a pivotal AL East matchup, expect Manoah to go deep into this game if he pitches well, giving him more opportunities to rack up K’s. – Ben Heisler

Jacob deGrom OVER 9.5 Strikeouts - New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs

Double digit strikeouts? This is insane. Maybe for typical pitchers but not when we are talking about Jacob deGrom. The Mets star pitcher faces off against a Cubs team that is striking out at the 11th highest rate in baseball over the last two weeks.

deGrom has been lock down for the Mets, striking out at least eight batters in every start since his first this season, and should overpower this Cubs lineup that is full of subpar hitters. The team is inefficient at the dish (bottom 10 in wRC+) and this should be a routine outing for the righty.  – Reed Wallach

Bailey Falter OVER 4.5 Strikeouts - Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins have the highest strikeout rate against the Miami Marlins this season, and it’s not even close. They have struck out on 28.1% of their plate appearances against lefties, the worst mark in the Majors by 1.8%.

The number has been even worse in recent weeks. Dating back to August 1st, they have a strikeout rate against lefties of 28.9%.

Tonight, they face left-handed starter Bailey Falter of the Phillies. He has surpassed this number in six of his last eight starts, so I have full confidence he can get the job done for us tonight.- Iain MacMillan

Jordan Montgomery OVER 16.5 Outs Recorded - St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Jordan Montgomery has been fantastic for the St. Louis Cardinals since they acquired him at the trade deadline, posting a 1.45 ERA and leading St. Louis to a perfect 7-0 record in his starts.

I think he’s got a chance to pitch deep into Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers, who struggle against lefties this season. Milwaukee is just 25th in OPS against left-handed pitching this season, and Montgomery has cleared 16.5 outs in five of his seven outings since joining St. Louis.

The lefty should continue his dominance in a favorable matchup tonight. – Peter Dewey

Sandy Alcantara UNDER 6.5 Strikeouts - Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Alcantara, while great, has cooled off a bit when it comes to strikeouts. He’s missed this line in five of his last eight starts. On top of that, his September hasn’t gone that well. He’s given up nine runs in two starts and 11.0 innings. He’s also given up four home runs in the last two starts. He’s struggling a little bit right now, so I’ll fade him until he snaps out of it. – Donnavan Smoot
