Best MLB Prop Bets Today

Shane Bieber OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+120) - Cleveland Guardians vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Bieber's not the strikeout stud he once was, but bettors should still be pumped to see a reasonable number for one of the most durable starters in baseball in an advantageous matchup.

The Rays finished with the 12th highest strikeout rate in baseball this year (23.2%); seventh-worst against right-handed pitching, punching out 24% of their at-bats.

Meanwhile, Tampa's lineup is loaded with left-handers and Bieber's K/9 went up to nearly 10 per game against them. At home, his strikeout rate vs. left handers went up even higher, all while limiting opponents to a .223 batting average against at Progressive Field.

Max Scherzer OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-130) – New York Mets vs. San Diego Padres

Playoff Scherzer time. While the veteran had a recent bout with injury, he went over this number in two of three starts back. He also struck out eight Padres in his lone start against them this summer.

San Diego's offense has been below league average in terms of wRC+ since the beginning of September and Scherzer is going to set the tone for the Mets postseason effort on Friday night. He has a career 3.22 ERA in 21 postseason starts while striking out over a batter per inning. I think we can clear this number early and get a quality start from Scherzer. – Reed Wallach

Zack Wheeler OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-105) – Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals have been one of the hardest teams to strike out all season, only averaging 7.57 strikeouts per game. That’s good for 5th-best in all of Baseball. However, Zack Wheeler is here to change that. He’s cleared this line in eight of his last 10 starts. He’s also cleared this line in both matchups with the Cardinals this season. Wheeler is on fire right now and the Cardinals offense won’t be ready for it. – Donnavan Smoot
