With nine games on the slate and two of them being part of a double-header, there’s plenty of baseball to bet on for Monday night. The trade deadline is on Friday, which makes this week one of the more intriguing ones in the season.  Some teams are fighting for playoff position and some teams are just trying to make it through the season.

Either way, there are a myriad of bets to make tonight and the Betsided team has you covered.

Here are our editors’ best picks across the Major League Baseball schedule tonight, with all odds via WynnBET:

Red Sox Cover -1.5 Spread vs. Toronto Blue Jays (+125)

Boston is the way to go tonight in my opinion. The Red Sox are coming off a dramatic comeback against the New York Yankees and get to bask in their victory by kicking off a home series against another division rival in the Blue Jays. These two teams played last week and Boston was able to handle Toronto easily, winning by 3 runs in both games (the second game of the series was postponed due to rain).

Boston is 31-20 at home while Toronto is 27-24, which bodes well for the Red Sox. Boston could be in trouble though. The Blue Jays have a +86 run differential, which means they aren’t as bad as their record shows. Despite that, I think the Red Sox start this series off with a win and don’t have to go through drama to get there. -- Donnavan Smoot

Joey Votto Over 1.5 Total Bases ( -104)

We have to go the north side of Chicago for my best bet of the night, as the Cubs are likely wrapping up their final week of their farewell tour of the 2016 World Series team against the visiting Reds. Kyle Hendricks gets the ball for Chicago and has been deceiving with his stats this year. He's 12-4 with a 3.61 ERA, and while he leads the majors in wins, he's also given up the most base hits with 125.

Enter Reds first baseman Joey Votto, who not only has two home runs in his last two games, but has 10 hits in his last 22 at-bats. Even more remarkable? Votto has owned Hendricks over his long career with 12 hits in 33 at-bats including three home runs, and an astounding 12 walks to just seven strikeouts. As a point of reference, Hendricks through 117.1 innings has only allowed 23 walks this season.

WynnBET set the amount of total bases for Votto at 1.5, with the over at just -104. With the amount of hits Hendricks has given up this season, along with Votto's keen eye at the plate and history against the Cubs right-hander, I'll be surprised if Votto doesn't get on base at least twice tonight. -- Ben Heisler

Blue Jays Moneyline vs. Red Sox (+120)

There’s nothing that I find sexier than a good moneyline underdog bet, especially when its one of the teams I cheer for. Yes, I may be slightly biased as a Blue Jays fan, but I think they’re in a great spot to pull off an upset tonight against the Red Sox.

Thomas Hatch will see his first major league action of the season tonight when he gets the start for Toronto. He had an impressive 2.73 ERA as a reliever with the Jays this season, and has spent the majority of his 2021 campaign with their AAA affiliate in Buffalo. During his time in the minors this season, Hatch racked up a 2.15 ERA across eight starts.

Finally, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say the Red Sox have been overperforming this season. Yes, they’re leading the competitive AL East with a 61-39 record, but their run differential of +68 ranks 8th in the Majors. Want to know who’s in front of them? The Blue Jays with a run differential of +86. Give me the Jays at +120 tonight. -- Iain MacMillan

White Sox Cover -1.5 Spread vs. Royals (+120)

The Chicago White Sox are coming off a big win against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday night and I expect them to keep things going against the Kansas City Royals on Monday.

WynnBET has Chicago as a -1.5 run favorite in this matchup, but they are just +125 to cover the run line. Chicago will send Dallas Keuchel to the mound against lefty Mike Minor, and I think that matchup bodes well for the Sox.

Keuchel has yet to face the Royals this season, but the White Sox have faced Minor three times and scored seven runs in 16 innings against him. On top of that, the White Sox are one of the best teams in the league against left-handed pitching, as they hit .262 with a .771 OPS on the season.

Only the Washington Nationals, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels have a better OPS against lefties this season. Minor comes into this start with a dreadful 5.45 earned run average despite his 7-8 record, and I’d expect the Chicago offense to get the best of him on Monday.

With the White Sox at plus odds to cover the run line, give them the Sox by two or more against a lowly Kansas City team. -- Peter Dewey
