MLB Power Rankings Based on World Series Odds (Who Can Make Final Playoff Push?)
By Peter Dewey
1. Los Angeles Dodgers (+290) Last Week: No. 1
The Dodgers have already clinched the best record in MLB, and they look poised to run the NL in the playoffs.
2. Houston Astros (+380) LW: No. 2
The Astros are closing in on clinching the best record in the AL. Their pitching is going to be tough to beat in October with Framber Valdez, Justin Verlander and Lance McCullers.
3. New York Yankees (+500) LW: No. 5
The Yankees are close to clinching the AL East, and they've won seven straight games. Are they getting hot at the right time?
4. New York Mets (+550) LW: No. 4
The Mets still have the lead in the NL East, and Max Scherzer has been dominant as of late.
5. Atlanta Braves (+950) LW: No. 4
The Braves and Mets have a huge series late this season that could decide the division. Atlanta just needs to keep pace until then to give itself a shot.
6. St. Louis Cardinals (+1700) LW: No. 6
Jack Flaherty's return gives the Cardinals an added element in their rotation for the playoff run.
7. Cleveland Guardians (+3200) LW: No. 11
The Guardians have won seven straight and nine of their last 10 to take a 10-game lead in the AL Central and all but clinch that division title.
8. Toronto Blue Jays (+2000) LW: No. 7
The Jays are going to be a wild card team, but they have the offense to make some noise in the postseason.
9. San Diego Padres (+4100) LW: No. 10
The Padres made a bunch of huge deals, but oddsmakers don't think they are a World Series contender based on these odds.
10. Tampa Bay Rays (+3200) LW: No. 8
Tampa Bay is trying to hold off the Seattle Mariners for the No. 2 wild card spot in the AL.
11. Seattle Mariners (+2600) LW: No. 9
Bright side: The Mariners re-signed Luis Castillo for the long term.
Not so bright side: The Mariners have lost seven of their last 10.
12. Philadelphia Phillies (+4100) LW: No. 12
The Phillies have lost seven of their last 10, and they're holding on for dear life in the NL wild card race, sitting just 1.5 games ahead of the Brewers.
13. Milwaukee Brewers (+13000) LW: No. 13
Milwaukee's playoff hopes are still alive, but even if they get there, they lack a lot of the offensive firepower to compete with the NL's top teams.
14. Baltimore Orioles (+50000) LW: No. 14
The Orioles could still make the playoffs, sitting four games out of a wild card spot with 10 to play.
15. Chicago White Sox (+100000)
Six straight losses, including getting swept by the Guardians has all but ended Chicago's season.
16. Minnesota Twins (+500000) LW: No. 16
The Twins have lost eight of their last 10 games and are now five games below .500. It's an awful collapse after leading the division most of the season.
17. San Francisco Giants (+500000) LW: No. 18
The Giants are on the verge of being eliminated from the postseason, a major fall off from last season's division-winning season.
