MLB Probable Pitchers for Saturday, October 15 (Who's Starting for Every MLB Team and Matchup Today?)
After a couple days of two-game slates and a rainout, we can get back to a full slate. Every team is in action today, given gus action from 1pm all the way to the end of the night.
All the matchups have been set, and we have so great matchups in pivotal games. The Braves and Dodgers are looking to stay in the series, while Houston is trying to sweep. The Yankees and Guardians have the biggest game – with that series tied at 1.
Let’s jump right into it and check out the matchups for today’s slate.
Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies Probable Pitchers
- Braves: Charlie Morton
- Phillies: Noah Syndergaard
Syndergaard has been in and out of the lineup as a starter, so his current form goes all the way back to early September. However, Morton has been struggling recently. He’s given up 10 runs in his last three starts – music to Phillies fans ears.
Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners Probable Pitchers
- Astros: Lance McCullers
- Mariners: George Kirby
Lance McCullers Jr. was the last piece the Astros needed to complete their rotation, and he’s been very consistent. He’s allowing 1.8 runs over his last five starts, allowing just two runs in four of them.
George Kirby will need to match that level of dominance, as he’s allowed at least four runs in two of his last four starts.
New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians Probable Pitchers
- Yankees: Luis Severino
- Guardians: Triston McKenzie
The last time Luis Severino was on the mound, he only went for 1.1 innings. Now that he’s healthy, let’s see if he can maintain his 3.18 ERA or post a better one.
Triston McKenzie has been fantastic all season and is a big reason why the Guardians are where they are. He’s only allowed two runs in his last three starts and hasn’t given up a home run either – which is horrifying for a Yankee fan.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Probable Pitchers
- Dodgers: Tyler Anderson
- Padres: Joe Musgrove
The Dodgers had a great chance to take a 2-0 lead yesterday, but just couldn’t get the job done. Now Joe Musgrove (0-2, 3.63 ERA against the Dodgers) gets a chance to rewrite his story against the league’s best team.
As for Tyler Anderson, who was 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA against the Padres, this is a huge game for him and the Dodgers. He’ll have to be just as great as he’s been to keep the Dodgers in the game.
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
