MLB Probable Pitchers for Saturday, October 22 (Who's Starting for Every MLB Team and Matchup Today?)
Come afternoon, we’ll have two games on to take us through the night. This is the last Saturday we’ll have multiple games on until next season, so let’s make it count. The pitching matchups are locked in for today’s games, and we should know who’s on the mound before betting these important matchups.
With that being said, let’s dive into the probable pitchers for the Championship Series games.
Houston Astros vs. New York Yankees Probable Pitchers
- Astros: Cristian Javier
- Yankees: Gerrit Cole
Cole has been fantastic this postseason. He’s only allowed three runs through 13.1 innings pitched, which is exactly the dominance the Yankees need to get back into this series. Javier, however, has had that same success against the Yankees. In his two games against New York, he only allowed one run across 12 innings. It looks like we’re set up for a pitcher’s duel here.
San Diego Padres vs. Philadelphia Phillies Probable Pitchers
- Padres: Mike Clevinger
- Phillies: Bailey Falter
Clevinger got rocked his last time out. His team was able to power though, and now he gets a chance to redeem himself. This is also Bailey Falter’s first postseason start of his career. Will he continue to have an ERA over 5.00 at home, or will he be able to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead?
