Whenever the Pittsburgh Pirates win a game, longtime broadcaster Greg Brown always exclaims, "Raise the Jolly Roger" following the final pitch of the game.

After their latest run of success, it's starting to feel like Pirates bettors aren't just winning, they're full on pillaging their respective sportsbooks.

The Buccos have gone 7-3 over their last 10 games, including a three-game sweep of the L.A. Dodgers in Los Angeles for the first time in 20-plus years.

Over the last 10 days, Pittsburgh has been the most profitable bet in Major League Baseball. Via betting analyst Ralph Michaels, the Pirates have cashed in at +10.15 units since the final weekend in May.

It's worth nothing that Pittsburgh's sweep of the Dodgers is a large reason for why their profit margin is so high on moneyline bets. Over at WynnBET Sportsbook, Pittsburgh was posted at +290 in the first two games, and +225 odds in the finale.

Meanwhile, despite the sun out constantly in southern California, it has not been sunny skies for those wagering on the two "L.A." teams."

The Angels have completely fallen off after a terrific start to the season. They've lost 12 straight games; falling to two games below .500 and have just fired manager Joe Maddon after a 157-172 record with the Halos since 2020.

Meanwhile, the biggest favorite to win the World Series at WynnBET, the L.A. Dodgers have also been a disaster for bettors. Despite going 4-5, their three-game sweep at the hands of the Pirates was devastating for moneyline wagers. Those who bet on both the Dodgers and Angels over the last 10 days are down a combined 19.7 units!

The Dodgers still remain the third-most profitable team to bet on this season on the moneyline; winning 64.8 percent of their games while going 31-23-0 on the run line this year. Only the Mets, Rangers, Diamondbacks and Orioles have been better. Meanwhile, the Angels are now 26-30-0 on the run line; ninth-worst in the Big Leagues.

The Pirates' recent run has catapulted them back to the middle of the pack for bettors this season. Run line Buccos' bettors are now 26-26-0 this year thanks to their run of success.
