Life is all about adjustments. But sometimes, sportsbooks are a bit slow to adjust to new information, like the Chicago White Sox and Lance Lynn not being very good.

That's the only explanation I see for how Chicago is a big favorite over the Kansas City Royals and Brady Singer today. Maybe oddsmakers haven't noticed, but Singer is on a bit of a heater, allowing just two earned runs over his last three starts while recording a 2.05 ERA in July.

Best MLB Underdog Pick Today

Once upon a time, Lance Lynn was a good pitcher. That fairy tale is over though, as he's been horrific this season. Over his last five starts, Lynn has an 8.21 ERA and surrendered six home runs. He only made it to the sixth inning once, and Chicago's bullpen and defense are among the worst in MLB.

I'd be tempted to fade Lynn against anyone, but I'm especially excited to back Royals' starter Brady Singer, who seems to have leveled up.

Singer has a ridiculous 22 strikeouts over his last two starts and allowed just two runs total over his last three. He threw seven shutout innings against the White Sox earlier this year and the Royals went 4-1 in his July starts.

It doesn't happen often, but Kansas City has a legitimate advantage on the mound today. Singer's underlying metrics are better across the board than Lynn's, who ranks in the 16th percentile in expected slugging percentage and 17th in expected batting average.

Trust Singer to down the underwhelming White Sox as Lynn's implosion continues. We're buying Bitcoin early - don't be late to the party.

Pick: Royals (+137)
