The Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox begin a pivotal three-game series tonight at Guaranteed Rate Field.  These AL Central rivals are fighting, along with the Guardians, for the top spot in the division.

Currently, the White Sox are in fourth place but have cut the Twins' lead to 4.5 games. If they manage to sweep this series, they could move within two games of the top spot in the AL Central. Here are the odds for this showdown from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Best MLB Underdog Pick Today

I’ll admit off the top here that my major reason for fading the White Sox today is Johnny Cueto. The 36-year-old journeyman has been decent in his first year in Chicago, but far from great. Cueto enters this game with a 3.33 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 54 innings of work. And while those are solid numbers, his game has been getting worse as the season progresses.

Cueto’s ERA in June was 3.82 and he allowed three or more runs to score in six of his last seven starts. Cueto also has a pretty rough career batting average of .278 against the Twins.

It’s worth noting that the Twins are 3-0 so far this year against the White Sox. Yes, those wins came when the Sox were struggling big time. But, the White Sox haven’t recovered totally from that awful start and still don’t even have a winning record.

The big risk in this game on our end is Dylan Bundy. The righty is making his 14th start of the year for Minnesota with a 4-4 record, and 4.71 ERA. But Bunday has looked better in recent weeks and lowered his ERA more than a full point in his last three outings. Bundy has allowed a total of just four runs in his last three games overall and I feel good about his chances to keep up the solid work.

Pick: Twins +114
