I’ll be honest with you, I’ve been hot this week. I’ve been hitting my bets (excluding taking Jacksonville in preseason football), and that includes my Underdog of the Day bets. I rode with the Orioles a couple of times earlier this week and they did me well down in Texas with a sweep of the Rangers.

Now, I’ve got another team that’s on the road and looks like a live dog tonight and of course I’m not greedy, I’m sharing it with you. Summer is winding down, we’re getting into August, but I’m heading to the beach as we speak, so I’m only going to get hotter. Let’s Go!

Best MLB Underdog Bet Today

I’ve already given out the over on this game today, but that’s not all the action that I’ll have on it. I’m definitely backing the Rockies because of how effective their offense is against left-handed pitchers.

Colorado has a .766 OPS against southpaws which is the fifth best in the entire MLB, and much better than their .709 OPS facing right-handers. Madison Bumgarner is certainly not the type of left-hander that should stifle the Rockies offense. He really hasn’t been able to slow down any offense this season.

Even though his ERA is 3.83, that is wildly misleading, he has a FIP right around five, his whiff rate is in the fourth percentile in the MLB. His expected ERA, expected slugging percentage, strikeout rate, hard hit rate, and average exit velocity all rank in the bottom 15% of the league.

Pick: Rockies ML +115
