The Chicago White Sox are back on the road today after enjoying a six-game homestead.

"Enjoy" might not be the best way to describe the Sox going 2-3 on their home turf, but now they head north to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays.

The White Sox had a disastrous start to the year but battled back and are almost a winning team again. Still, they remain an underperformer after most prognosticators predicted they would crush the rest of the AL Central.

While the Blue Jays have a winning record, they're in third place in a very competitive AL East. Despite being seven games over .500, the Blue Jays are 5.5 games behind the Yankees for the top spot in the division. The odds suggest tonight should be a cakewalk for the Jays against the White Sox, but, I’m not sold on that with Lucas Giolito on the hill for Chicago.

White Sox vs. Blue Jays Prediction and Pick (Giolito Outduels Gausman)

There is no hiding the fact that the White Sox are struggling. They have one of the worst offenses in the league right now and sport a terrible -45 run differential. But, they have looked better in recent weeks and I think will eventually get all the way back on track.

Tonight would be a good start if they can make the most of Giolito’s start. The 27-year-old right-hander has been one of the bright spots of this team and is the big reason I am choosing to take them to upset Toronto here.

Giolito enters this game with a fantastic 2.63 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 37 ⅔ innings of work. He has a great K/BB rate of 3.4 and is looking stronger each game.

Toronto is on a five-game tear, but I think at these odds a play on Giolito and the White Sox is a quality-calculated risk.

Pick: White Sox ML +152
