The San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres clash again on Sunday in a game between the second and third-place teams in the NL West. Both teams have a lot of work to do if they hope to catch the surging L.A. Dodgers who are on a 9-1 hot streak in their last 10 games.

As of today, the Padres are seven games behind while the Giants are more than a dozen games off the pace. But, there are still plenty of seasons left for both SF and SD to make a run at the Dodgers atop the division. The Giants enter this game 1-2 in this series and will look to even things up in today’s finale.

Here are the odds for this showdown from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Giants vs. Padres Odds, Run Line, and Total

Run Line

  • Giants: +1.5 (-200)
  • Padres: -1.5 (+165)

Moneyline:

  • Giants: +105
  • Padres: -115

Total:

  • Total 7.5 (Over +100/Under -120)

Best MLB Underdog Pick Today

I realize that the Giants are not the biggest underdogs we’ve ever seen here at BetSided. But, at plus-money odds, they still fit the bill and we’re going to roll with them tonight on the road.

Alex Wood makes the start for the Giants today in search of his sixth win of the season. With a 4.83 ERA and 1.33 WHIP, things could be better. However, Wood is trending in the right direction after back-to-back solid outings. He struck out four while giving up one run against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday in a losing effort.

On the other side of things, I feel like Mackenzie Gore is heading in the wrong direction after an awful June. Gore is 4-3 on the year with a 3.18 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but saw his ERA swell to 7.27 in four starts last month.

While he did almost earn a win against the Dodgers last Sunday, I see issues with his game right now. Gore walked the same or more batters than he struck out in three straight games. That is a recipe for disaster even if it happens. But, three times in a row is very concerning.

Gore is walking a tightrope and I think he slips up in the important divisional matchup.

Pick: Giants +105 ML
