MLB Underdog of the Day (I Can't Believe We Still Get To Bet Against Kikuchi)
By Josh Yourish
I spent the last week at the beach and now I’m back, recharged, and ready to start digging into more picks and keep things rolling from the good vibes I had down in South Carolina. The great irony of it all is that I had one of my best weeks of picks maybe ever, and I was in a state where sports gambling is not yet legal. So, I didn’t profit from my great picks, but you certainly did.
You’re welcome.
The vibes are still up and we’re going back to a familiar face for the underdog of the day. So, let’s take a look at the odds from our friends over at WynnBET.
Orioles vs. Blue Jays Odds, Run Line and Total
Run Line
- Orioles +1.5 (-145)
- Blue Jays -1.5 (+120)
Moneyline
- Orioles +140
- Blue Jays -150
Total
- 9.0 (Over -110 / Under -110)
Best MLB Underdog Pick Today
I don’t have the exact stats, but I’m pretty sure that the Orioles have been my Underdog of the Day twice as much as any other team if not more. I constantly go back to this well and it pays off quite often. I usually love the Orioles as a home dog, because they have more wins as a home dog than any team in baseball, but today they are on the road and that isn’t stopping me.
Yusei Kikuchi is on the mound for Toronto and he is one of my favorite pitchers to fade in the league. The Blue Jays are 6-13 in his starts, he is 4-6 with a 5.13 ERA and a fielding independent pitching around six. Kikuchi is 0-2 facing Baltimore this season with exactly a 9.00 ERA. That means he gives up a run an inning to the 2022 Orioles.
Anthony Santander is hot right now and leads the Orioles offense. He has a .986 OPS over the past seven days and more importantly a .909 OPS against left-handed pitching.
The Blue Jays cannot rely on Kikuchi and I cannot believe he is still in their rotation to bet against. Kyle Bradish is on the mound for Baltimore and while he struggled early in the year, the O’s are 3-0 in his starts since returning to the major league team.
Pick: Orioles +140
