Who’s ready for some playoff baseball?

The ALDS and NLDS begin on Tuesday afternoon, with the Seattle Mariners taking on the Houston Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies taking on the Atlanta Braves.

The New York Yankees host the Cleveland Guardians in the AL nightcap, while the Los Angeles Dodgers look to remain the World Series favorites in their series against the San Diego Padres.

There’s a ton on the line in Game 1 of these five-game series, especially with some of the wild card teams looking to steal a game with one of their lesser starters on the mound.

As always in the game of baseball, weather can play a role in the outcome of the game. Whether it is rain, wind or combination of elements, the weather is something bettors should always have in mind before placing any bet, especially if it is on the total.

Every day here at BetSided, we share the latest weather report for each game, as well as how it may affect the total. Let’s dive into the Game 1 reports:

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves Game 1 Weather

  • Forecast: 70 degrees and sunny, wind blowing in from left field at 9 mph.

It’s looking like perfect fall weather in Atlanta for Game 1, and even though the wind is blowing in, it may not make this an automatic game where you bet the UNDER. The Braves and Phillies are No. 5 and No. 4 on the OVER in Major League Baseball this season, both hitting at about a 52 percent clip.

With Philadelphia’s No. 3 starter in Ranger Suarez on the mound, this could be a spot to go OVER.

Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros Game 1 Weather

  • Forecast: This game is played in a dome.

Luckily, weather won’t be a factor in Houston’s domed stadium. Still the total in this game sits at just 6.5 with Justin Verlander taking on Logan Gilbert.

In a solid pitching matchup, oddsmakers aren't’ expecting the offensive explosion the Mariners had in Game 2 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Houston was the best UNDER team in Major League Baseball during the regular season, going 93-60-9 on UNDERs.

Cleveland Guardians vs. New York Yankees Game 1 Weather

  • Forecast: 63 degrees and sunny, wind blowing out to left field at 5 mph.

It’s looking like it will be a clear night in the Bronx, which could help the OVER, especially with the wind blowing out a bit.

Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has allowed 12 homers in his last eight starts, including at least one in each game. That, coupled with the Yankees’ home-run heavy offense could lead to a lot of runs, but it’s worth noting that both of these teams are top 10 in the league in bullpen ERA.

The OVER was 41-38-2 in the Yankees’ home games this season.

San Diego Padres vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Game 1 Weather

  • Forecast: 64 degrees and sunny, wind blowing out to right center field at 10 mph. Chance of precipitation of 15%.

The temperature is expected to drop into the low 60s during this game, but there’s going to be a lot of wind heading out in an interesting pitching matchup.

Padres starter Mike Clevinger has a 9.69 ERA in three starts against the Dodgers this season, so don’t be shocked if this game goes over strictly because of L.A.’s offensive firepower.
