The NFL's first Monday Night Football matchup of the 2022 season may not feature two of the best teams in football, but does highlight a very compelling storyline.

Former Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl winning quarterback, Russell Wilson, makes his return to Seattle tonight as a member of the Denver Broncos; favored by 6.5-points at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Wilson went 104-53-1 in 10 seasons in Seattle, going to two Super Bowls, winning one, and leaving as the franchise's all-time leader in wins, touchdowns, passing yards, and games played and started.

BetSided's Iain MacMillan has already written up his best bets for tonight's game, as well as a same game parlay to cook up for a potential big payday.

Meanwhile, here are my three favorite props on the board for tonight's Week 1 finale.

Best Monday Night Football Prop Bets

  • Russell Wilson OVER 12.5 (-130)
  • Courtland Sutton Longest Reception OVER 22.5 Yards (-114)
  • DK Metcalf OVER 4.5 Receptions (-113)

Russell Wilson OVER 12.5 Rushing Yards (-130)

I grabbed this line earlier at 10.5, and have noticed it start to tick up throughout the day.

Seattle's defense a season ago allowed an average of 10.2 yards per game to quarterbacks. Wilson, even in a down year, averaged 13.1 rushing yards per game last year. This is the healthiest he'll be, so expect plenty of opportunities to scramble if plays break down in front of him against his former team.

It's also been reported that Seahawks' brass were more comfortable moving on from Wilson during the offseason because they believe his rushing ability was starting to slow down.

"Narrative Street," anyone?

Courtland Sutton Longest Reception OVER 22.5 Yards (-114)

Sutton appears to be the primary deep threat for Wilson in the Broncos' offensive scheme, which means the newest highest-paid player in the league will showcase his deep ball talent with Sutton, who finally has a quarterback that can get him the ball in space to make plays.

Sutton is a consistent leader in air yards downfield, and with downfield passing being Russ's specialty, a deep reception is in the cards tonight.

DK Metcalf OVER 4.5 Total Receptions (-113)

Perhaps no player on the Seahawks' roster was more excited to have Geno Smith under center than Metcalf, who put up outstanding numbers with the journeyman signal-caller a season ago while Wilson was hurt.

With the game script favoring Seattle needing to throw the ball downfield, especially late as 6.5-point home underdogs, Metcalf should see several targets his way on Monday night.
