Monday Night Football Best Same Game Parlay Picks for Commanders vs. Eagles
By Ben Heisler
Divisional games are never a lay-up, but oddsmakers don't appear to have many concerns about the Philadelphia Eagles this week when they host the Washington Commanders in Philadelphia.
Philly is 8-0, looking dominant in the majority of their victories up until last week. After being tied with the Houston Texans after the first half on Thursday Night Football, the Eagles outscored the Texans 15-3 in the second half, but failing to cover the near two-touchdown spread.
With the line back to double digits again, can the Commanders be a thorn in the side of their NFC East rivals this evening?
Here's a look at the latest odds from Lincoln Financial Field this evening:
BetSided has already put together plenty of betting plays, props, and anytime touchdown scorers for tonight's game, but a same game parlay is a fun way to tie several of them together in hopes of a big payday.
Using DraftKings Sportsbook's "same game parlay" odds, I've put together four different props, three of them at alternate prices that I believe set up awfully well at exceptional value. Tonight's four-way same game parlay pays out at +525 odds, meaning a $25 bet would pay out $156.25.
Let's break down our plays!
Best Monday Night Football Same Game Parlay for Commanders vs. Eagles
- Jalen Hurts Anytime TD Scorer (+100)
- Eagles (3 Way) 1st Half (-320)
- Brian Robinson Jr. OVER 29.5 Rushing Yards (-200)
- Taylor Heinicke Alternate Rushing Yards OVER 14.5 (-200)
Jalen Hurts Anytime TD Scorer (+100)
Red zone opportunities, in particular inside-the-five carries are where the money is made in hitting paydirt in the NFL, and Jalen Hurts ranks right near the top of the list at the quarterback position!
Only Joe Mixon, Jamaal Williams and Kenneth Walker III have more overall red zone rushes than Hurts' 28 carries, but more importantly, he's tied for second in the entire NFL with 12 attempts inside-the-five, scoring all five of his touchdowns from that mark.
While the Eagles didn't use him a week and a half ago in that spot against the Texans, in a division game after extended rest, be assured he will be the primary "back" in goal line spots, even ahead of Miles Sanders.
Eagles (3 Way) 1st Half (-320)
There's not much to think about on this one. The Eagles own the best first half offense in the NFL by a full 3-point margin over the Buffalo Bills in 2022, including scoring more than 21.3 points per game in the first 30 minutes at home.
Compare that to Washington, who ranks 31st out of 32 in first half offense this year, averaging just 4.3 points per half so far this season.
For what it's worth, if you are a little less risk-averse, consider taking the Eagles 1H -6.5 (-140) instead. The odds of the parlay would move from +525 to +700 or better depending on the book.
Brian Robinson Jr. Alternative Rushing Yards OVER 29.5 (-200)
There's a ton that the Eagles do well, but stopping the run has not been one of them.
The Eagles are 27th in the NFL in Football Outsiders' DVOA ratings against the run. The Commanders' best bet to keep the game close is a healthy dose of Robinson in the early going to keep Jalen Hurts and company off the field.
Taylor Heinicke Alternate Rushing Yards OVER 14.5 (-200)
For similar reasons as Robinson, Heinicke's success through the air is in jeopardy tonight vs. the top-ranked pass defense in football.
Heinicke also has a tendency to be turnover-prone when facing pressure up the middle, so look for Scott Turner to design a few quarterback-specific running plays and read-option opportunities with both Heinicke, Robinson and Antonio Gibson to extend drives and give the Commanders a fighting chance to pull off the upset.
