Gonzaga might be a little tired after its 100-90 win over Alabama on Saturday.

It was quite the shootout with a top 10 team in the country and exactly what the Zags needed to finish out the difficult portion of their non-conference schedule before retreating back in the WCC, which they’ve dominated for years.

First they’ll take on Montana out of the Big Sky. The Zags are back up to No. 11 at 9-3.

Montana is 6-5 on the season and the Grizzlies have won three straight over South Dakota State, North Dakota State, and Prairie View. It’d be a surprise if they made it four in a row, but we’re more worried if they can cover a big spread. Here are the odds.

Montana vs. Gonzaga Prediction and Pick

The Zags are back, they’ve found their form in a run-and-gun game with one of the highest scoring teams in the country. To beat Bama in a shootout is no small task, but Gonzaga plays at a fast pace themselves, they’re 35th in the country in possessions per game. Montana won’t be able to survive a track meet if the Zags start to run, they’re 341st in possessions per game.

Drew Timme is having another great season, averaging 21 points and eight rebounds a night. He had 29 against Bama and Mark Few is finally getting the secondary scoring in the frontcourt.

The backcourt has been solid with Julian Strawther, Rasir Bolton and Nolan Hickman each pitching in and Malachi Smith scoring off the bench, but Anton Watson’s 17 point game was a great sign and much needed to take the load off Timme.

This is going to be all Gonzaga, unless the team severely let its foot off the gas after the weekend. Mark Few is smart enough to know to turn this game into a track meet and run the Grizzlies off the floor.
