Morehead State vs. Belmont Prediction and Odds (Bruins Seeking Revenge After Previous Loss to Eagles)
By Matt De Saro
The Ohio Valley Conference is back in action tonight when the Morehead State Eagles take to the road to battle the Belmont Bruins.
The Eagles enter Thursday riding a three-game win-streak with their most recent victory coming over Austin Peay 77-52. John Broome, the team leader in scoring, had 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles in that game.
At 19-2 overall and 11-1 in OVC action, the Eagles are second in the conference standings behind 12-0 Murray State. Behind the Eagles, in third place, is the 20-5 Bruins who are 10-2 in conference play. Therefore, this is a huge game with a lot at stake for both teams.

Morehead State vs. Belmont Prediction and Pick
At first glance, the spread for this game seems a bit high for two teams fighting for the same spot in the OVC. Especially considering that Morehead State already beat Belmont this year 83-74 as 5.5 point underdogs.
While I won’t go so far as to call that a fluke win, I am not sold on the Eagles pulling off a similar win again. For starters, the Belmont game was the first game that the Eagles covered as underdogs since Nov. 27. On the year, they are 3-6 ATS as underdogs and 1-6 ATS as an underdog on the road. As an away team they are 4-8 ATS overall.
In contrast, Belmont is 14-9-1 ATS on the year, 5-3-1 as a home favorite, and 6-3 on two days rest. The big reason for this is an offense that ranks ninth in the nation in points per game (80.5) and third in assists per game (0.636). Compare that with an Eagles’ defense that ranks 107th in opponent shooting percentage and 62nd in scoring and their chances to sweep Belmont begins to fade.
Lean: Morehead State -9.5
