The No. 12 Auburn Tigers are off to a red-hot 10-1 start and might be the team to beat in a jam-packed SEC. The Tigers come off a hard-fought win over Saint Louis on Saturday 74-70. Auburn trailed by 13 points in that game but rallied to win. Tonight, they'll host the Murray State Racers as 12.5-point home favorites.

The Racers are also off to a 10-1 start to the year and are outscoring opponents by more than 20 points per game on average. They don't have the strength of schedule that the Tigers do, but they did beat a tough Memphis team and have reeled off seven wins in a row heading into Wednesday night.

Here are the odds for this matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Murray State vs. Auburn Prediction and Pick

While Murray State might not be considered a powerhouse program, the Racers are one of the most prolific offenses in the nation right now. The Racers are sixth in the country in scoring at 86 points per game and are fourth overall in offensive rating. Four of the Racers’ five starters are averaging double-digits led by Tevin Brown with 19.1 PPG and 5.7 rebounds. The Racers not only routinely outscore their opponents but are also cleaning up on the boards. They are out-rebounding opponents by double digits and this is something Auburn has struggled with.

The Tigers were outrebounded 46-27 in their near-loss to Saint Louis and will be tested again against a much bigger Racers’ frontcourt. Auburn is also an offensive-minded squad and ranks 20th in overall scoring at 82 points per game. They like to push the pace and are also very good on defense, ranking 16th in efficiency.

These two teams have a habit of playing high-scoring games and a combined average of 168 PPG. For those keeping track at home, that is 20.5 points more than the predicted total for this game. Murray State and Auburn also have a combined OVER record of 6-2 in their last eight games and I think that trend continues tonight.

Pick: Murray State & Auburn OVER 147.5 (-110)
