Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores may envision the Dolphins’ backfield operating in a committee, but oddsmakers are still backing Myles Gaskin to lead the way.

Gaskin is +4000 on WynnBET to lead the NFL in rushing yards, which is ahead of Najee Harris, Alvin Kamara, Chris Carson, Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams.

The former seventh-round pick had a solid 2020 season, and while Salvon Ahmed and Malcolm Brown will likely get touches, Vegas doesn’t have either listed on the odds list to lead the NFL in rushing.

“You saw all three backs played, all three of them got carries," Flores said about the committee. "Pick one out and put them in, basically. We like all three guys. They all do good things. And I think we saw that today. And [we'll] just keep working all three guys."

Gaskin is the most complete back of the trio as he ran for 584 yards in 10 games last season while also catching 41 passes for 388 yards, totaling five scores.

Ahmed, who filled in for Gaskin when he was injured, caught just 11 passes in six games, but he did rack up 319 yards on the ground on 75 carries (4.3 yards per carry).

Brown, who was signed as a free agent from the Los Angeles Rams, carried the ball 101 times for 419 yards and five touchdowns last season.

Gaskin may not be an every-down workhorse back, but he seems to have the most upside in Miami’s group. Oddsmakers seem to be hedging that Gaskin will pull away from Brown and Ahmed this season, but he’s still a risky bet at +4000 to lead the NFL in rushing.

Flores used a running-back-by-committee approach last season, but injuries allowed Gaskin to rack up 10 games with double-digit carries, including six games with 14 or more rushes.

If the third-year back can stay healthy, Gaskin should be the leader of the committee, but players like Kamara (+5000), Harris (+5000) and Williams (+5000) present much better betting value given their situations.
